Kimonos are traditionally worn with a full juban or inner layer underneath the kimono as a protective layer as to not damage the delicate kimono.

This can be quite hot, and so, modern times have brought about a collar-only juban that still allows for the kimono to look the way it is supposed to without adding an extra full layer to wear underneath.

However, as this is more adjustable, it can easily move while you are getting dressed, disrupting the elegant image of the kimono, if not fastened properly.

Therefore, for anyone that has not worked with this before, we recommend our dress-up service instead to alleviate the heat whilst still enjoying the full experience of the kimono.
